Preface
This story occurred in an era with energy crisis. A group of scientists gathered in an underground laboratory, trying to discover substitute energy. Though an experiment, they happened to find out that some common chemicals can produce tremendous energy via the transformation of molecules and the percentage of depletion is very small. Therefore, these chemicals can surely substitute any existing fuel in the world and contain incalculable value.
The leader of these scientists is Dr. Ferra . When he was younger, he grew corns at home, but also showed great interests in machinery and chemistry. He would not only do a lot of experiments in his laboratory remodeled from a garage, but would also dissemble their delivery trucks for research and remodeling. With his strong interests and intelligence, he studied on his own and managed to get the admission from a prestigious engineering school. The year when he graduated from college, the whole world was severely hit by oil crisis, so Dr. Ferra collected funds from some of his classmates and established a research institute to refine their self-grown corns into high-purity fuel alcohol. Their research gained a wide support from many governments, and corns thus became an important raw material for refining fuel energy.
However, Dr. Ferra believed that a great number of corns are required to refine fuel alcohol. Raw materials cannot be obtained within a short period of time, and costs of growing corns will be high. Consequently, while he was contemplating on how to reduce production costs, he also strived to explore new energy.
In an experiment, Dr. Ferra and other scientists collected some samples and did experiments in their newly purchased particle transformation apparatus. After those samples were transformed and placed in the particle accelerator for collision, a substance with high energy was unexpectedly created- "Powers." With the analysis of computers, its strength is almost close to that of the black hole, and a small amount of Powers can easily destroy a whole city.
Though Dr. Ferra had once created similar substance before, it was very unstable and dangerous, so he immediately destroyed it. By contrast, the results of this experiment were fairly surprising: the newly discovered material was very stable, easy to store, and suitable for serving as substitutes for various existing energy.
All the research members were very pleased with their findings, and in order to celebrate their significant discovery of Powers, which might be able to impact on the entire world, they were planning to hold a party in the laboratory. While they were cheerfully discussing about what to have for dinner, someone had broken into the secret storage room, and took away the only sample of Powers.
As a matter of fact, Dr. Ferra has an older brother named Lamni . In comparison with Dr. Ferra , Lamni doesn’t enjoy studying very much, but shows more interests in commerce. Ever since Lamni was little, he liked to go out for fun and had made a lot of friends, accumulating a wide network of connections. At his twenties, one day he carried his suitcase and said there was no future to stay at home; he decided to go out and start a business. Later, he occasionally sent his parents some money and told them he was safe. His family only knew he was doing well in a company under a financial group, but other than that, they knew little about him.
It was around ten years after Lamni left his home that a financial crisis swept the whole world. During that time, many enterprises around the world were forced either to discontinue their business or lay off their employees. Though the degree of damage was severe, a company under Fyne Group was growing, and its headquarters took the opportunity to acquire numerous famous companies. Fyne Group, therefore, quickly became the largest enterprise within a short period of time.
As the size of Fyne group is gradually increasing, the U.N. started to take notice of this, and suspected something wrong. The U.S. thus sent some special personnel to investigate. After thorough investigation and research, they found out that this round of financial crisis was actually schemed by Fyne group, which later turned into a huge event, bringing large impacts on the global financial market. However, when they tried to investigate the president of the group, their efforts were obstructed by all authority concerned, and couldn’t obtain any information about the president. At a certain point, the U.N. even announced its plan to discontinue the investigation as if there were some huge secrets hiding behind.
In fact, since Fyne Group started to become known in the international world few years ago, many media and people concerned wished to interview its president or searched for information about him, but in vain. They couldn’t even find a tiny piece of information about the president, so the identity of the president remains a mystery.
On the table of the president lied a metal box which looked like a gun case and a body guard was standing next to the box. This guard was standing against the door and an iron chain tied his wrist to the switch of the box. The guard was silent, quietly waiting for the master of the box to unlock it.
Suddenly a burst of engine sound appeared downstairs. A stretched purple off-road vehicle drove into the gate of the headquarters, then a robust man dressed in a purple suit, wearing leather shoes and a gentleman hat got off the car. That is exactly the president of Fyne Group-EXTRAM.
EXTRAM soon walked into his office, took out the sun glasses from his pocket, and put on his glasses. Later, he unlocked the iron chain on the wrist of the guard, and opened the box. It was a crystal-made cylinder inside the box, which somehow emitted extremely bright light. The guard’s eyes were almost damaged by the strong light, but he had been well trained, so he quickly put on his sun glasses and recovered himself.
This guard is in fact the personal assistant of EXTRAM: KELLER, who is the person EXTRAM trusts the most. EXTRAM once found out though his connections that those personnel in Dr. Ferra ’s laboratory was engaging in a breakthrough experiment, and it might bring significant impacts on the whole world. That is why he and his assistant planned the scheme to steal Powers. The important task of delivery was then assigned to his assistant. KELLER later took off his glasses, and his identity was revealed……
A wave of gloomy atmosphere permeated Dr. Ferra’s laboratory because all of their time-consuming research results disappeared overnight. Some people were angrily cursing, others were weeping, and still others were just sitting there, not knowing how to respond. As for Dr. Ferra , he sat on his chair, contemplating that he could not allow people to steal his research results……
With the help of the police, they only found an ambiguous image from a surveillance camera, and nothing else. As a result, they decided to mobilize all connections to start a large-scale search. After a while, they knew the person who stole Powers carried a metal box and went into a restaurant when he was last seen. When he left the restaurant, he did not carry any item. That restaurant was exactly a subsidiary of Fyne Group, a secret place for making deals.
After this piece of important information was obtained, Dr. Ferra started to investigate all information regarding Fyne Group without missing any clue. They were finally sure that this group did steal Powers from them, and Fyne Group was planning to utilize that powerful energy maker during this round of financial crisis to embark on its plan about governing all governments in a violent way. If they don’t take back Powers, the entire earth will then be hit by an unprecedented crisis.
Since Dr. Ferra was keen on remodeling trucks when he was younger, he had known a lot of vehicle lovers, and owned a small-sized fleet. As long as he heard about Fyne Group’s plan to set up a research department for Powers, and it needed some truck drivers to deliver goods, he decided to take this opportunity to enter the devil enterprise, and destroy its interior structure…
